Progression of new painting

November 29, 2008 15:06 by vwalsh

I made this animation of one of the new paintings I'm working on, to try to show how the glazes slowly build up on the surface as I work.  This is a progression of 10 images, taken over about 4 weeks.  I'll keep adding to it as I get farther along on the painting.  The painting is just getting started, but I'd appreciate any comments on it at this stage.

This file is kind of big, so it might take a minute or two to download...so please be patient.

Updated 11/29/08:  I added 5 more frames to the animation, showing the work from mid-October to now.

Oh my goodness--I just watched this and showed it to Wally. He thinks you should be doing some kind of projected animation piece with these work-in-process shots. You really have something here--the animation creates the kind of psychological ambience that the pieces address. Totally incredible!
